Sustainability and standards

Sustainability starts with better plant design.

Sustainability is not an add-on.
It’s shaped at the design stage: through the selection of plants and materials, the consideration of conditions, and the decisions that influence how long a scheme will last.

The most sustainable plant scheme is one that’s designed to last.

In commercial environments, sustainability is about suitability, longevity, and avoiding waste created by poor design decisions. Schemes that are badly designed decline faster, require more intervention, and often need unnecessary replacement.
Better design reduces that risk.
How we work
Design approach

The decisions behind every scheme.

Designed for real conditions.
We design around the environment: light, heat, access, circulation, operational pressure, and how the space is used.
Built for longevity.
A scheme that loses quality quickly is not responsible. We create work that holds its intent in demanding commercial settings.
Selected for performance.
Plant choices are made carefully, balancing visual impact with resilience, site suitability, and resource requirements.
Specified from the outset.
Containers, materials, and growing media (always peat-free) are defined early and built into the design, not retrofitted.
Frameworks

Aligned with how buildings are evaluated.

Where relevant, we work in alignment with frameworks such as BREEAM, WELL Building Standard, and LEED.

Strengthening our foundations.

As projects grow in scale and complexity, we’re continuing to strengthen how our work is structured to align with recognised standards by formalising the systems we have in place.

SIPP

(In progress)
Formalising our safety standards to meet the requirements of larger, compliance-led environments and procurement processes.

ISO 9001

(In development)
Formalising the systems already in place across our service, ensuring they are documented, auditable, and scalable as we grow.

WELL AP

(In progress)
Our founder is currently undertaking WELL AP accreditation, strengthening how we manage plant environments to support wellbeing.
